Pastor
Ionie Porter
PASTOR IONIE PORTER Pastor | Silver River New Testament Church of Christ the Redeemer | 20+ Years Pastor Ionie Porter is a devoted wife, mother, and family-centered woman. She has been Pastor of The Silver River New Testament Church of Christ the Redeemer for over twenty years, a role she took on not by mere occurrence, but by divine appointment. Leadership Journey Pastor Porter began her path in leadership in the very church she pastors, serving faithfully as a Leadress. A no-nonsense woman with a mothering nature, she has been a pillar of strength to many. Her leadership is marked by love, order, and unwavering devotion to God's Word. Heart for Family & Women Pastor Porter is a firm believer in love and family relationship. A core part of her constant teaching is equipping young women to minister effectively in the home and to treat their husbands according to the Word of God. In every way she speaks highly of her husband and children — whom she counts as her greatest accomplishments. She models that you can carry the altar and cover the home. Church Legacy & Impact Silver River New Testament Church stands as a beacon of faith and hope in Truro, Westmoreland. The legacy began in the late 1960s through the vision of Rev. Putt Ellis and Rev. Fearcloth, built on prayer, teaching, and commitment to God's Word. Following Rev. Ellis, Dr. Peter Williams faithfully carried the mantle until 2005 when he was called away to rest from his labour. Pastor Ionie Porter, his trusted assistant and woman of deep faith was his successor and still serves as Pastor to this day. Today Silver River remains a shining pillar of spiritual growth, offering encouragement to Christians and those seeking God. Next Generation Focus Built on faith, Silver River invests in the next generation by trusting and empowering young people with spiritual knowledge — teaching them to love God, honor Him, and walk in righteousness. Testimony & Mantra Pastor Porter often shares: "Once my heart was empty, and I was living in sin but one day I gave my heart to Jesus and He took me in." Through her testimony and the Word, she reminds the church that there are still a few who have remained faithful, who have not defiled their garments, and who continue to walk in righteousness before God. Under her leadership, Silver River continues to be a sanctuary of transformation, deliverance, purpose, and spiritual guidance.
