Leadership Succession Prior to the passing of Overseer Edwin Smith, he appointed Matriarch Mother Prudence Austin as leader of the church. Mother Austin served faithfully for approximately 20 years before passing the mantle to her daughter, Regional Bishop Mervalyn Grey, who now serves as current leader of Sacred Heart Spiritual Church of Jesus Christ International Waterworks — a mother-to-daughter succession that models stability and generational transfer. Journey of Advancement Called and anointed for service, Bishop Grey advanced through every office with faithfulness — from Missionary to Deaconess, Minister, Host Pastor, Ground Bishop, and now Regional Bishop — today overseeing four branch churches, proving she can pastor locally and govern regionally. Youth Development She has made the development of youth one of her signature contributions, actively investing in young people by mentoring, teaching, and creating platforms for them to serve in ministry. Under her leadership, youth are encouraged to discover their gifts, walk in purpose, and take responsibility in the church, with many across her 4 branches testifying that her guidance shaped their walk with God.
