BISHOP ERIC GUTHRIE Patron & Spiritual Elder | Stallion in Zion Early Calling & Foundation From a tender age, Bishop Eric Guthrie answered a divine calling on his life, dedicating his youth to the service of the Lord. He began his spiritual journey as a young brother at the Jerusalem School Room in Keith, St. Ann. It was within this faithful community that the foundations of his deep faith, unyielding principles, and love for God's word were firmly established. Ministry & Divine Mandate After years of dedicated service as a lay member, the hand of God explicitly moved him into leadership. Stepping out in faith, he established his very first ministry. What began humbly as a dedicated "prayer house" soon became a testament to God's grand design, as the Lord had far greater plans in store for His servant. In 1979, uniquely inspired by a divine vision, Bishop Guthrie was called by God to establish his second church. Alongside the late matriarch, Mother Bascoe, he gave the ministry its powerful and lasting name: Mt. Sinai New Testament Church of Christ the Redeemer. Growth & Impact The ministry's beginnings were humble, housed in a small, traditional bamboo thatch structure. However, through Bishop Guthrie's visionary leadership, tireless labor, and profound faith, that modest structure was completely transformed into the flourishing, structural haven it is today. Character & Legacy Bishop Guthrie is widely recognized as a true "stallion in Zion", a powerful mouthpiece for God who has never diluted the Holy Word to suit anyone. Known as a man of strict principles, his ministry is anchored by a firm belief in absolute obedience to God's commands. His leadership has always been touching and transforming lives across the globe. Throughout his decades of ministry, he has baptized countless individuals and led a multitude of souls to Jesus Christ. Today, Bishop Guthrie continues to stand as a beacon of light.
